NAWLA ELECTS FIRST CHAIRWOMAN
Susan Fitzsimmons, vice president-mass merchants of Snavely Forest Products in Pittsburgh, was recently elected as the first-ever chairwoman of the North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) at the group’s 116th Executive Conference in Tucson, Ariz.
Fitzsimmons was elected to the NAWLA board of directors in 2005 and was appointed to the executive committee in 2006. She has had extensive committee and industry involvement during her time with NAWLA.
Also elected to officer positions include: First Vice Chairman George (Buck) Hutchison, Hutchison Lumber & Building Products, Adams City, Colo.; Second Vice Chairman Chris Beveridge, Skana Forest Products, Richmond, B.C.; Secretary/Treasurer Bill Barnett, Marathon Forest Products, North Vancouver, B.C. and President and CEO Nick Kent of NAWLA, Rolling Meadows, Ill.
Also during the NAWLA Executive Conference Henry Poler, past president of L.R. McCoy & Co. in Worcester, Mass., was presented the 2008 NAWLA Mulrooney Award.
