Young Retailer of the Year Program
Each year, the North American Retail Hardware Assocaition hosts the Young Retailer of the Year Program in conjunction with the NRHA Convention. The program highlights young, aspiring hardware retailers and honors them for outstanding achievement as owners and managers of independently owned hardware and building supply stores in the United States and Canada. The purpose of the program, now in its 14th year, is to recognize outstanding performance and encourage talented young people to pursue a career in the retail hardware business. To date, the program has honored 100 young retailers.

the 2010 Young Retailers of the Year Program
For 14 years, the Young Retailer of the Year program has been recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of the hardware/home improvements industry’s next generation of retailers. This year, the program honored eight retailers, and on the following pages, we’ll tell you their stories.
The program awards retailers for their outstanding achievements as owners and managers of independent hardware and building supply stores in the United States and Canada. Nominees for the program must be 35 years of age or younger. All of them have been exemplary in their professional accomplishments, goals for the future, education and the way they stay involved in their communities.
The North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) coordinates the program, which is sponsored by the American Hardware Manufacturers Association, 3M, Apex Tools and the Scotts Company.
Honorees were special guests at NRHA’s 2010 Annual Convention and All-Industry Conference, which was held July 19-21 in Savannah, Ga., where they were recognized in a banquet held in their honor.
