The National Legislative Program
The North American Retail Hardware Association’s (NRHA) National Legislative Program informs retailers about issues that directly affect their businesses. A Legislative Committee consisting of the president and executive vice president of NRHA and retailers dedicated to supporting NRHA’s legislative efforts offers guidance on issues of major importance and maintains contact with senators and representatives who can influence legislation on these issues.
NRHA reports on legislative and regulatory activities through Last Week in Washington, a faxed newsletter; “Capitol Retail Report” in Hardware Retailing magazine; Washington Report, an e-mail communication to hardware association offices; legislative updates in Hardware Retailer member newsletter; Washington Info Alerts on issues of immediate interest; Federal Laws & Regulations, compliance guidelines on new laws and regulations; and National Legislative Teleconferences.
Last Week in Washington, Washington Report, Washington Info Alerts and Federal Laws & Regulations are available on line at www.nrha.org as is a schedule of 2008 National Legislative Teleconferences.
NRHA’s Washington legislative counsel is John Satagaj, attorney at law. NRHA is a member of the Small Business Legislative Council and the National Retail Federation.
